# Keys

> Organization keys for services and CI.

A service authenticates with an organization key as a bearer token:

```http theme={"dark"}
Authorization: Bearer mai_sk_...
```

| Key | Starts with |
| - | - |
| Live | `mai_sk_` |
| Test | `mai_sk_test_` |

What a test key makes is separate from what live keys and the organization's people make, and the reverse. Each product says what test mode does on it.

## Create a key

Owners and admins create keys at [app.metaphi.ai/keys](https://app.metaphi.ai/keys): name it, tick **Test key** for a test key, and choose **Create**. The key is shown once; copy it then.

A key holds a subset of the scopes its organization holds. A key made in the console holds every scope the organization holds when it is made.

Keys can be made once Metaphi approves the organization.

## Revoke a key

Choose **Revoke** on the key's row. Calls with it stop working within a minute.

Use keys server-side only. A key acts as nobody on GitHub; see [GitHub](https://docs.metaphi.ai/account/github.md).
