# GitHub

> Connect GitHub so products read and write your repositories as you.

A product that works on a GitHub repository does so as you, with your GitHub access. Two things are needed:

1. **Your GitHub connection.** Connect at [app.metaphi.ai/connect/github](https://app.metaphi.ai/connect/github). Signing in with GitHub connects it too.
2. **The Hum GitHub App on the repository's owner.** An owner of the GitHub account or organization installs it. A refusal names the install link when it is missing.

An organization key acts as nobody on GitHub. A call made with a key reads public repositories only.

When a connection is revoked on GitHub, expires, or is moved to another account, connect again. See [Errors](https://docs.metaphi.ai/account/errors.md#github).
